Independent testing before we begin

Every hearing aid undergoes our own independent testing, so your fitting begins without any compromise.

  • Electro-Acoustic Analysis (EAA): we measure each hearing aid’s performance independently before you arrive.
  • Listening check: we make sure the sound is clear and of high quality.
  • Directional microphone verification: we confirm the microphones are working properly (if applicable).

2 Hearing Aid Fitting

Your first appointment: a precise, verified fit

First appointment Duration: 60 minutes

You’ll receive your hearing aids, and we’ll fit them precisely to your hearing levels using Real Ear Measures, the gold standard in hearing aid fitting accuracy. We verify your fitting against NAL prescriptive targets for soft, average and loud sounds, so the settings are measured, not guessed.

We’ll also make sure of:

  • A comfortable, secure fit of your domes or earmoulds
  • Proper placement of the devices in or on your ear
  • Assessment of venting and feedback management
  • Handling and maintenance training, including charging and daily care
  • Your personalised listening plan

4 Ongoing support & your next steps

Care that continues after day 45

Hearing aids need adaptation, and our program is designed so you get the best results from day one. After your first 45 days, ongoing care is what keeps those results strong.

12 months of FidelityCare comes with every new hearing aid fitting — so you keep the appointments, guidance and clinic support you need for successful wearing.

  • Follow-up appointments and fine-tuning as your hearing and lifestyle change
  • Consumables and parts for everyday success — such as domes, wax filters, tubes and batteries where they apply
  • Help with cleaning, charging and day-to-day care of your devices
  • A team that knows your fitting history and is easy to reach when something doesn’t sound right

We also use Redux professional drying technology in clinic — an advanced system that removes moisture and debris from hearing aids, helping devices stay reliable and perform at their best between visits.

If you have questions, need extra support or want to talk about extended care options, our team is here to help.

Why it matters

Best practice isn’t a single appointment

A hearing aid that’s never verified or fine-tuned can’t reach its potential. Our program builds best practice into every step.

Quality-checked first

Every device is tested in a test box and listened to before it’s fitted.

Verified, not guessed

Real Ear Measures and NAL targets confirm what your hearing aids are actually delivering in your ears.

Real-world results

Speech-in-noise testing and COSI outcome measures track the difference in the places that matter to you.

Time to adapt

Four appointments over 45 days, then 12 months of FidelityCare, so you’re never on your own.

FAQ

Fitting program questions

Is the 45-day program mandatory?

Yes. The Best Practice 45-Day Fitting Program is a mandatory process with every hearing aid fitted by us. It’s our company approach: we achieve the best outcomes for our patients by performing this standard of practice, so every hearing aid that comes through our clinic is optimised and each person gets the most out of their devices.

I already have hearing aids. Can I join?

Yes — an adoption fee applies. Some hearing aids may be excluded, such as devices that are no longer serviceable (for example out of warranty), superseded models, or limited white-label devices. Call us or ask at your next visit and our team will confirm whether your aids are suitable.

How long is each appointment?

As a guide, your fitting (first appointment) is about 60 minutes and each follow-up is about 30 minutes. Pre-fitting testing is done before you arrive, so it doesn’t add to your time in the clinic. Depending on how quickly you adapt and how you’re progressing, we can sometimes combine appointments for convenience, or extend a visit when you need more support. Some people want a faster path because they’re doing well; others need a bit more time. Within our capacity, we stay flexible so you get the support that suits you.

What are Real Ear Measures?

Real Ear Measures (REM) use a thin, soft probe tube placed in your ear canal alongside your hearing aid to measure the sound the hearing aid actually produces in your ear. It’s the gold standard in hearing aid fitting accuracy. We compare the results with NAL prescriptive targets for soft, average and loud sounds, and adjust until your hearing aids match your hearing levels.

What is COSI?

The Client-Oriented Scale of Improvement (COSI) is an outcome measure. You tell us the listening situations that matter most to you, such as conversations at dinner or hearing the grandkids. We then review how much your hearing aids have helped in those situations.

What happens at the end of the 45 days?

Your fourth appointment is your final check-in before the 45-day return period ends. We make final adjustments, review cleaning and maintenance, schedule your future follow-up care and confirm your decision to continue your better hearing journey. Your 12 months of FidelityCare then continues your support.
